Snow!!!

5 to 6 inches of snow awaited us Saturday morning- that's a lot for NC! Thank goodness Nana had the insight to buy Tyler this snow suit just in case we got snow. According to her, every year is going to be the year full of snow storms. We all bundled up and headed out to face the elements. Connor seemed to enjoy it the most, though Andrew and I each relished the opportunity to let our inner child play and sled in the snow. Tyler was too bulky to sit fully upright. Here's a look at his slow progression into what appears to be the making of a snow angel. Aaaaahhhh, our little snow angel.

Andrew said the early 90s called and wanted my hat back.

Sledding through the tree obstacles

We had more fun than Tyler!

Nana kept Tyler warm inside while we played-
thank you Nana!

Quarantined

Well, we've been fighting a case of the poopy pants for 2 weeks now. We've called in the recruits (Grandmama and Grandaddy Johnson) several times to help us out. Thank goodness they are so close by. They even took one for the team- we passed our germs off to both of them. Sorry!!!!! I lost track of the number of times I washed Tyler's clothes, sheets, disinfected his toys, and the whole house. Who knew so much stuff could come out of one little baby?!?!?
I think we've finally beat the poopy pants. Just in time to catch pink eye. Terrific. Home from daycare again.... recruits back to help.

Break is Almost Over

Guess I'll be heading back to class next week. Boo. I've had such a wonderful "break" from school. I've still been working, but not having to drive to Greensboro and sit through those 3 hour long classes has been so nice. Tyler and I have gotten into the routine of getting up for the 6 am feeding, then playing for a bit and going back to sleep till 9 or so. I'm sure Andrew has enjoyed a break from picking up Tyler from daycare everyday and fixing us dinner. This semester will hopefully not be a bad as the other ones. Only 2 1/2 more years to go!

Here are some pics from Tyler's 7 month photo shoot. These were taken by our friend, Sarah. She's wonderful- check out her blog (Elaine Bella Photography), the link is on our side bar. Also, don't forget to vote in our poll (also on the side bar!).

Why do you insist on posing me in these strange locations?

Is that hair beginning to come in?!?!?

Grinding my teeth.

Yep, I've started grinding my teeth.

Good thing I have this hat on to keep me warm
since I'm otherwise naked.

This one is one of my favorites.
I love crying baby pictures.

His audtitions for the next Gerber baby are next week.

When not grinding his teeth, he's chewing on his fingers.
(in fact, he's doing it so much he's starting to get calluses there!)

First Crawl

New Year's resolutions for 2010:
Andrew and Leslie:
1. Eat 1 "raw dinner" night a week: We've actually been doing this for the last 5 weeks, so we're looking good so far. This was started in an effort to save money and save calories. Which leads me to...
2. Work out more: Yeah, yeah, this one always make the list.
3. Keep a balanced budget: Andrew found this awesome Google document that does all the calculations for you, you just have to enter in the numbers! I love it! Now, let's see if we can stay out of the red.
Connor:
1. Shed less: So far, he's not taking this one seriously
2. Go on more walks: This one will pick up after it's no longer 20 degrees outside
Tyler:
1. "Transition" to the Infant II class per his daycare teachers: So far, he's "transitioning" well. We think this idea happened last week after Tyler attempted to steal his favorite book back from another one of the babies who was playing with it. Uh-oh, we don't want to have the mean kid in school, we'll have to address that now.
2. Learn to crawl: See below for progress... at one point, we begin dangling favorite toys in front of him. We often have to remind ourselves he's our child, not our dog.

Looking forward to a happy and healthy 2010! Hope to see all our loved ones soon.
