Football is in Full Force

Carolina's first 3 games were all at home this season, and we were lucky enough to go to all of them. Here are just some quick recap pics from the fun. (Sorry, but they're somewhat out of chronological order.)

Grandaddy went to the Rutgers game with us
These pictures were taken by Tyler- he's pretty good don't you think?

An attempt at a family picture post-game.
I think it captures The Johnsons well

Tyler found his tailgating girlfriends from last year-
he's such a little heartbreaker, older women too!

(Of course, major toddler breakdown occurred after this picture when mommy wouldn't let him climb the tree with the big kids)

Tyler- is that you behind that ice cream cone?

Labor Day Weekend 2011

We kicked off Labor Day weekend by attending the first UNC football game of the 2011 season. It was a 3:30 game time and we got out to tailgating around 11:30. It was hot. Thank goodness we brought our canvas tent we used this summer at the beach, so 7 month preggers Leslie (and 6 month preggers AliRog who was tailgating with us) were both somewhat comfortable. Of course everyone else in the group didn't mind the shade from the tent either. Thanks to one of our good friends, Liz, we had a parking place in a lot close by to the stadium which made our tailgating experience even that much more enjoyable (didn't have to lug all our food and equipment halfway across campus)!

The newly finished Blue Zone.
Not quite sold out as you can tell. Andrew briefly looked into how much it would be for us to get season tickets there (the concourse has AC and free food and you can drink beer), but once the tally started going over $4,000 we decided that was a bit out of our price range.

Ty-ty stayed with Grandmama and Grandaddy for the day and had a blast. He talked all week before about how he was going to see 2 firetrucks ("not one firetruck, two firetrucks") and jump on his train sheets bed. Ever since Grandmama and Grandaddy got the mattress with the train sheets, Tyler has enjoyed looking at the trains and even has been known to take naps there as well.

Uncle Marcus was in town briefly and we were all able to eat dinner together before his flight left. Needless to say, Tyler had to show-off his bouncing abilities before we left.

Tyler has been talking nonstop about his Uncle Marcus since he last saw him ("Marcus go fast in wagon!") and they picked up right where they left off once they were re-united.

Hope everyone out there had a great Labor Day weekend too. We're looking forward to some cool fall weather soon, more Carolina victories, and more time with friends and family.
