Uncle Michael Randomly Stops By

Just another typical day with Little Man until we received a phone call around 4:30 from Uncle Michael . He was helping a friend move from Athens, GA to Washington DC and they had gotten a late start. Lucky for us, they needed a place to crash for the night and we got to hang out with him for a bit. Moving during the hottest part of the summer?!?!?!? I'm so glad I don't have to do that anymore.

Uncle Michael, your hand is bigger than my belly!

Tyler and Mommy went back to bed after the boys got on the road.
Mommy, your head is bigger than my body!

Happy 2 Month Birthday Tyler!

Two months old today.  We celebrated by having dinner at Bandidos-  yummy.  'Mister Man' is still making funny faces and "goo-ing" more and more often.  I think a lot of his smiles these days are intentional.  For the past 3 nights he's slept until 6 AM.  Unfortunately, I'm still on the wake up at 4 AM schedule.  I can't complain though, a good 4-5 hours of straight sleep is wonderful.
Tyler starting to look like his Dad.

Mommy, I'm getting tired of you taking pictures of me, please put me in my swing.
A lot of white shirts here for some reason.

Tyler and Star

Just within the last few days Tyler has noticed the star on his play mat.  It has proven to be an excellent distraction, uuummmm educational tool that is, for me in the mornings when I'm trying to grab a quick bite to eat for breakfast.  It is the only thing he makes excellent eye contact with thus far.

Trip to Atlanta

Hanging out with Dad at the "pool" the day before Tyler and Mommy left for Atlanta.  Tyler was lathered up in 50 SPF baby sunscreen.  The water was a bit cold-  Tyler (and Mommy) didn't like that very much.

Tyler didn't last very long on our 'pool' adventure.  He decided sleeping on the screened-in-porch was much more enjoyable.

It took Tyler, Connor, and me 9 hours to get to Atlanta.  That's at least 3 hours too long!!!  We made a few pit stops though.  Tyler was a good baby until we hit Spartanburg.  Only 3 hours left to go in our trip!  Any suggestions for crying babies during car rides?  The 'lean the driver's seat back as far as possible and attempt to find baby's mouth with the passy' move did not work very well.

Quick stop at Great-Grandfather Reid's house.  Fed the baby, changed the diaper, visited for a bit, then continued our drive.

Tyler finally makes it to Atlanta and assumes his favorite sleep position.

Tyler, Connor, and Leslie missed Andrew.  He must've missed us too, he called several times a day.  We decided to come back home a day early to see him.

Nana gave Tyler lots of kisses and fed him his bottle at least twice a day.

Uncle Michael babysat Tyler for about 30 minutes and had to change a poppy pants.  He called us to walk him through it.  Close call, Tyler didn't pee on him.

We had a great time, but I think we wore down the Weavers.  It still takes 3 adults and 1 dog to keep up with the baby.  Tyler was worn out too, the car ride home was much more manageable-  he slept most of the time.

Wake Up Sleepy Head

OK, one day I promise I'll post an interesting video of Tyler, but that day is not today. Seriously, he is only 5 1/2 weeks old- he doesn't do that many interesting things except make funny fart noises.

This is a great example of his "fake" sleeping. He wakes up way too easily here. Tyler enjoys "fake" sleeping most just when Andrew or I think he's ready to go back in his crib.  "Fake" sleeping can be difficult to identify, but is often accompanied by a periodic one eye opening (a.k.a. the One-Eyed Willie Maneuver).  This allows the baby to sneak a peek and make sure you're still around.

Tyler Becomes a Model..... Sort Of

These pictures were taken by our friend, Sarah.  She's an awesome photographer and recently started her own photography studio.  Please check her blog out at www.ElaineBellaPhotography.blogspot.com
We highly recommend her for all your photography needs!!

During the session Tyler was fussy for most of it, but Sarah was able to get some good shots.  He only peed on us twice.

Thoughtful baby.
