We kicked off the 4th of July weekend with a parade at Tyler's school. All the kids had made hats or were carrying banners or flags. As usual, Tyler was doing his own thing throughout most of it.
Baseball outfit- check.
Star-spangled hat- check.
Review on proper marching technique- check.
This Mister Man is ready for a 4th of July parade!
On Saturday, we loaded up the car (it's amazing how much stuff you feel you 'need' to take with you on an overnight trip with a 2 year old) and headed to visit Paw Paw at Lake Norman. Several of our close friends were there, and Nana and Uncle Michael drove up for the weekend as well. We had a blast on the lake, jet skiing, and spending time with our friends and family. Here's a picture of Ty-Ty breaking for a snack.
Chocolate chip cookie and juice- yummy
We stayed at a nearby hotel that night. Here's what I walked out to after finishing up my shower.....
Two tired Johnsons
(notice Tyler's motorcycles- one in each hand, one even frozen mid-air upon falling asleep)
Back at our house, Tyler found out that our flag could be taken down from its post on our front porch. Flags are already one of his favorite things to play with (much smaller ones of course), so needless to say, he was enthralled with this big one.
